About the game
Spades is a strategic card trick-taking game where you bid on tricks, use spades as trump, and try to hit your contract while outsmarting the table.
How to play
Start each round by bidding how many tricks you think you can take, then play one card per trick and follow suit when you can. Spades are trump, and you cannot lead a spade until someone has played one on a trick to break them. Watch which high cards are gone, time your spades to win key tricks, and avoid taking too many extra tricks so you do not rack up bags.
Tip Keep track of aces and kings and hold one medium spade so you can take control near the end of the round—good strategy and thinking make the difference.
